Spookily Good Halloween Children’s Party Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner and you may be planning a gathering for your child and their friends. There are lots of ways you can make this a great fun occasion without spending a fortune, both in terms of money and time. Here are some of my favorite Halloween children’s party ideas to help your party go off spookily well.

1) Adapt some traditional games

There are many traditional party games that can work really well for Halloween. What’s the time Mr Wolf? And Grandma’s footsteps both have that surprise element that works well for the frights of Halloween. Make use of dollar store bargains such as packs of plastic spiders, and hide them around your house for a spooky treasure hunt. And, The Mummy Game, using rolls of toilet paper to wrap up your friend like a mummy, is also a great game for a Halloween party.

2) Make some spooky food

This doesn’t have to require lots of effort. Hot dogs can soon turn into fingers and ketchup into blood! Try creating smoothies using green fruits to make a slimy swamp drink. Decorate cupcakes with jelly worms and insects. And, you can use spookily shaped cookie cutters for Halloween themed cookies and sandwiches. Finally, for a healthy snack, turn clementines into jack o lanterns by drawing faces onto the skin.

If you want to get really creative there are lots of ideas here.

3) Frightful Decorations

You can go all out at Halloween with decorations and your children can easily get involved. This monster door décor using paper plates as eyes looks easy enough to complete.

And these “Mummy” mason jars for candles are adorable.

Finally, balloons can make great ghosts and jack o lanterns too.

4) Freakishly Good Party Favors

Party Favors can be so easy to do at Halloween. There is so much themed candy available that you are really spoilt for choice. The children could trick or treat you as they leave to get their favors for added fun.

If you want to present the candy in a slightly more imaginative way, then take a white paper cup and draw a ghost face on it. You could do the same with an orange cup and turn it in to a jack o lantern, or a green cup with a Frankenstein face.

I hope these ideas inspire you to have a fantastic Halloween. Don’t forget if you need extra entertainment for your party, a magic show can be an excellent accompaniment to the spookiest night of the year.
